Location and climate

Szczawnica is one of the most beautiful and oldest health centres in Poland. It is picturesque and situated in the Grajcarek valley between the chain of Pieniny and Beskid Sadecki, just 110 km from Krakow. Szczawnica is, without doubt, one of the most beautiful places in the region.

The village is known for its excellent microclimate and clean air which helps to improve the general condition of the upper respiratory tract. However, the biggest attraction in Szczawnica is the medicinal qualities of the natural water springs called “szczawy” by the Highlanders. The Village is named from these springs. Szczawnica is also surrounded by stunning nature reserves and the Pieniny National Park which is a natural shelter for a huge variety of animals and plants. The richness of the local flora and fauna will satisfy even the most demanding connoisseurs of nature.
